To continuously optimize the user experience of the Wormhole cross-chain bridge, enhance network stability, and prioritize rewards for core ecosystem contributors, we will implement the following important adjustments to the cross-chain withdrawal rules. These changes aim to balance efficiency, security, and incentives, with specific arrangements as follows:
1. Reduction in Service Fee Rate
Effective from 00:00 UTC on February 9, 2026, the service fee rate for cross-chain withdrawals via Wormhole will be reduced from 0.7% to 0.6%. This change is designed to lower cross-chain costs for users and improve asset transfer efficiency.
2. Initiation of Limited Capacity Testing Phase
To ensure the absolute reliability and long-term stability of the cross-chain service, we will enter a “Limited Capacity Testing Phase”. During this phase:
-
Testing Rule: A temporary limit of no more than 100 USD per transaction will be applied to transfers from the USD@Openverse chain to the USDT@BSC chain.
-
Service Guarantee: Within this limit, we will dedicate additional resources to ensure the successful execution of every cross-chain transfer and provide a reliability commitment for these transactions. Data collected during this phase will provide crucial support for ultimately lifting the limit and fully opening the service.
3. Priority Access
To thank and incentivize steadfast supporters of the Openverse ecosystem, this adjustment will implement a “Staker Priority” principle:
-
Priority Group: All users who have staked BTG will receive priority access to the cross-chain service following this adjustment.
-
Benefit: When the system processes cross-chain requests, transactions from staking users will be given higher priority in the queue, resulting in a more stable and faster cross-chain experience.
This adjustment is a key step toward a more efficient and robust cross-chain service. We appreciate the community’s understanding and support and will continue to optimize the service based on test data and feedback. Please stay tuned for official announcements regarding the conclusion of the testing phase and the lifting of transaction limits.
Sincerely,
The Openverse Team
