Openverse Foundation has officially announced the upcoming release of the VRC-13 Timing Token Bluepaper.

VRC-13 is a brand-new protocol introduced by Openverse. Rather than serving as another digital asset standard or an extension of existing token protocols, VRC-13 presents a new economic framework built around time, objects, and digital rights, aiming to establish a universal system for representing, managing, and circulating rights in the digital era.

The Internet has evolved from the Information Internet to the Value Internet. HTTP enabled global information access, while blockchain enabled ownership and transfer of digital value. VRC-13 explores the next stage of this evolution—the Rights Internet.

Within the VRC-13 framework, everything with value and a lifecycle can be represented as an Object. Physical assets such as vehicles, buildings, devices, and products, together with digital assets including domain names, digital identities, AI Agents, and software services, can all be represented through a unified object model, allowing time-based rights to be created, managed, delegated, renewed, transferred, and circulated on-chain.

For example:

teals://one-day.3KLDEKH.ModelY

May represent the one-day usage right of a specific Model Y vehicle identified by its unique equipment ID. In the future, digital identities, AI Agents, smart devices, access permissions, and countless real-world rights may all be expressed through standardized Timing URIs.

Unlike the traditional web, where URLs locate information, VRC-13 introduces a new object-centric addressing model capable of locating not only digital resources, but also objects, time, and rights, laying the foundation for the next generation of digital infrastructure.

The VRC-13 Timing Token Bluepaper will present the complete theoretical framework behind the Rights Internet, including the Timing Object model, object economy, network value models, market evolution models, and the long-term economic implications of rights-based digital infrastructure.

Openverse believes that the future Internet will not only connect information and value, but also the countless rights exchanged among people, devices, AI Agents, and autonomous systems.

If the Value Internet has created a digital economy measured in hundreds of trillions of dollars, the Rights Internet—connecting both the physical and digital worlds—may unlock an economic landscape whose long-term potential is beyond measure.
